COLLECTIONS: FOOD AND DRINK

Food container

Plastic vessels such as this example were used extensively in 21c life. Despite the oil age being an advanced civilization in many ways, it remained surprisingly oblivious at this time to the harm that plastics in contact with food might cause. Scientific examination of the remains of all types of animal life (from microbes to humans) has revealed widespread evidence of plastics ingestion, with creatures at the top of the food chain having the largest amounts. However, recent analysis shows an encouraging decline in the presence of plasticisers from its peak in the early 22c.
